You’ve heard from a patient. Now you will hear from a doctor. Topical Steroid Withdrawal, aka Topical Steroid Addiction, Red-Skin Syndrome, and other evocative names, is as grim as it sounds. Dr. Sheary, who was introduced to us by Dr. Peter Lio, a familiar name to long-time readers of this website, is a general practitioner in Sydney, Australia. She completed her medical degree at the University of Newcastle and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2007. She has published a number of research papers on this topic since 2016. She has also contributed a chapter to Treating Eczema with Traditional Chinese Medicine (World Scientific Publishing) by Dr. Xiu-Min Li and Henry Ehrlich.
