On SiriusXM Doctor Radio, I told interviewer Perri Peltz that in 35 years of practice, patients who met in my waiting room had produced 14 marriages. Perri said, “What is going on in your waiting room? Single listeners, that’s the place to meet people!”
But there’s a serious point here. I told her, “Each time they told me about their impending weddings, I would give them a card and say, ‘Present this to your children, because when two parents have allergies, it is almost guaranteed that their children will, too.’” To date, I probably have 60 next-generation patients. So while allergies should never stand in the way of romance, if you went to get your allergy shot and were struck by Cupid’s arrow, there are shots in your children’s future, too.
